The Purpose

The purpose of the “Facilitate Meetings Effectively with Measurable Results” is to equip participants with tools and techniques to confidently guide the group through a collaborative process. The quality of the outcomes from a facilitated meeting hinges on the skills of the facilitator. The facilitator must be skillful in guiding the group through an orderly process, be able to diffuse interpersonal conflicts, manage participant input, bring out the best in everyone and conclude the meeting effectively.

The Problem

There are several problems that occur when professionals attend unproductive meetings. Research indicates that 50% of that meeting time is wasted because professionals are not engaged or do other work during the meeting. Unproductive meetings:

  • Cost organizations billions of dollars
  • Slow progress and performance
  • Increase errors and mistakes
  • Create frustration and resentment
  • Deliver poor to mediocre results

Workshop Questions

Participants develop tools to facilitate meetings effectively to achieve measurable results. Do you know how to:

  • Facilitate meetings effectively to guide the group through a collaborative process to achieve consensus?
  • Lead the group to gain buy-in, make high quality decisions, and develop innovative solutions?

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of an effective facilitator
  • Explore the skills and traits that support roles and responsibilities
  • Acquire tools to become more effective and confident
