Sabrina is 17 years old and recently graduated from Canyon Crest Academy in San Diego, California, this past June. This coming January, she will be attending the George Washington University in D.C where she will study International Politics and Public Policy. Aside from her academic and intellectual pursuits, Sabrina loves to play tennis, work-out, cook, and channel her musical side on the piano.
Sabrina’s passions for human rights, writing, and social justice piqued her interest in ICIARA technologies. Having experienced the issues ICIARA handles first hand, Sabrina gives personal insight to the team. She plays a role as a content writer, editor, and supporter of social media/website management.
Sabrina transferred schools numerous times growing up. From private to public institutions and studying abroad, she has a diverse perspective of culture within education systems. Sabrina battled through various anxiety-related challenges over her school years, but these obstacles inspired her to shed light upon these topics in her blog and through her projects.
Since her freshman year of high school, Sabrina has been fascinated by history and has loved to write. She’s managed her blog, BySabs (http://bysabs.com). Through her articles which tie history to current events, she aims to promote tolerance, respect, and compassion by educating her community. She brings awareness to matters involving student life, human rights, civil liberties, and social justice. She has also participated in National History Day, researching the Holocaust at great depth and interacting with survivors locally and internationally.
Sabrina is also a co-founder of Deeds By Kids (http://www.deedsbykids.org), a group aimed toward helping children in need through community projects. Currently, the team is working to finish the “SELF” book project. The book entails stories of kids (her own & her friends) in sticky situations and includes tools and techniques as to how one should manage adversity, bullying, and physical abuse.
Sabrina’s experiences and work over her childhood and teenage years have inspired her to become a force of activism and change on a global scale. In the future, she hopes to become a congresswoman or Secretary of State.
